Last updated: March 16, 2026

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Skozin ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, please do not use the Service. These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and anyone who accesses or uses the Service.

2. Description of Service

Skozin is a web-based LaTeX editor that allows users to write LaTeX source code, compile it into PDF documents using external APIs, and save documents to the cloud. The Service is provided free of charge and is intended for personal, educational, and professional use.

3. User Accounts

  • You must provide accurate information when creating an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account.
  • You may not create accounts on behalf of another person without their authorisation.
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.

4. Acceptable Use

You agree not to use the Service to:

  • Upload, transmit, or compile content that is illegal, harmful, abusive, defamatory, or obscene
  • Violate any applicable local, national, or international law or regulation
  • Infringe the intellectual property rights of any third party
  • Attempt to gain unauthorised access to any part of the Service or its infrastructure
  • Use the Service to send unsolicited communications (spam)
  • Introduce malware, viruses, or any other malicious code
  • Scrape, crawl, or automate requests to the Service in a way that burdens our infrastructure
  • Use LaTeX shell-escape commands or other techniques to execute arbitrary code on our servers

5. Your Content

You retain ownership of all LaTeX documents and content you create using the Service ("Your Content"). By storing content on the Service, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store and transmit Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you.

We do not claim ownership of Your Content, will not sell it to third parties, and will not use it for purposes other than operating the Service. You are solely responsible for the legality and appropriateness of Your Content.

6. Third-Party Compilation

Document compilation is performed by third-party services. By compiling a document, you agree to transmit your LaTeX source to such services. We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or data handling practices of these third-party services. We recommend not including sensitive personal data in documents you compile through the Service.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service, including its design, code, templates, and branding, is owned by Skozin and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. The LaTeX templates provided are available for personal and commercial use but may not be redistributed as part of a competing product or service. The open-source libraries used in the Service remain subject to their respective licences.

8. Service Availability

We strive to keep the Service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time with reasonable notice where practicable.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Skozin disclaims all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, secure, or that compiled PDFs will be accurate or complete.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Skozin and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of data, arising out of or related to your use of the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount paid by you (if any) to use the Service in the twelve months preceding the claim.

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will post the updated Terms on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the new Terms.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising under these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of the applicable jurisdiction.
