Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 16, 2026
1. Introduction
Welcome to Skozin ("we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use our service, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information. By using Skozin you agree to the practices described in this policy.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your email address and display name. Passwords are never stored in plain text — authentication is handled securely by our identity provider. If you sign in with a third-party provider such as Google, we receive only the basic profile information (name and email) that you authorise — we do not receive your password.
2.2 Documents You Create
The LaTeX source code and document titles you create are stored securely in our cloud database under your account. This data is private to your account and is not shared with other users.
2.3 Usage Analytics
We collect anonymised, aggregated data about page views and performance metrics to understand how the service is used and to improve it. This data does not include personally identifiable information and does not rely on advertising cookies or tracking pixels.
2.4 Log Data
Our infrastructure providers automatically collect standard server log data including your IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URL, and timestamps when you access the service. This data is retained for security and operational purposes.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you securely
- To store and retrieve your LaTeX documents across devices
- To provide the document compilation service (LaTeX source is sent to external compilation APIs)
- To improve and monitor the performance and reliability of the service
- To respond to your enquiries when you contact us
- To send service-related emails (e.g. password reset) — we do not send marketing emails
4. Third-Party Services
To operate the Service, we work with trusted third-party providers for authentication, cloud storage, hosting, and document compilation. These providers process data only to the extent necessary to deliver the Service and are bound by their own privacy policies.
- Authentication & storage provider — manages account sign-in and document storage securely in the cloud
- Hosting provider — serves the application and provides anonymised performance analytics
- Document compilation service — processes your LaTeX source to generate a PDF when you request compilation
Note on compilation: When you compile a document, your LaTeX source is transmitted to an external service. We recommend not including sensitive personal information in documents you compile through this service.
5. Cookies
Skozin does not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. A session token is stored in your browser's local storage to keep you signed in between visits. Our analytics solution does not set any cookies. You can clear your browser storage at any time to sign out.
6. Data Retention
Your account data and documents are retained as long as your account is active. You may delete individual documents at any time from your dashboard. To delete your account and all associated data, please contact us at the address below and we will process your request within 30 days.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Object to or restrict processing of your data
- Data portability (export of your documents)
To exercise any of these rights, please use our Contact page and select Privacy / Data Request as the enquiry type.
8. Children's Privacy
Skozin is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated policy on this page with a revised "Last updated" date. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
